Last weekend I was looking forward? to having an operation on Saturday so finding an image for the Weekly Photo Challenge wasn’t really my No 1 priority. However I’m back now so here is something I shot in Positano in 2006 and to date I still do not know what type of tree this is.
You can see on the bark large vicious looking spikes that would surely deter even the most ambitious climber. There is a leaf or two so if there are any aborists out there who recognise it please get in touch. The colours are fairly accurate and it was growing in a domestic garden. Positano is on the Amalfi coast so it’s a Mediterranean climate. Any suggestions?
