It was very cold when I took this on Saturday morning, around one degree celsius.
However I think it was worth it do you agree?

Something different

A few weeks ago I was asked by my good friend Damien Lovegrove if I would have a look at his new video Lumen before it was released and give him my feedback.
Having watched it through several times both before and after release I have to say it is one of the best lighting on location videos currently available.

Damien has an easy going style and communicates what he wants to shoot and how he proposes to light it very effectively. Most of the time he uses just one or two flash heads from the Godox range. Within the video are many useful tips on posing the model, the choice of aperture and how to position the lights to work with the ambient light available.

I don’t think it ever hurts to watch another photographer at work, you can always learn something. If you’re new to using flash or just want a better insight into using flash on location this is a great video to have available on your tablet or phone.

Available to download now it costs GBP 65, euro 75 or USD 77.

Until March 5th you can save 20% if you use one of the codes below and click on this link LUMEN to order.

I took this one sunny Sunday morning in early October 2015 when I was reviewing the then new #Leica_S (typ 007), this has a CMOS sensor replacing the CCD sensor in earlier models. Leica choose to continue with a 37MP sensor when both Hasselblad and Phase One had set their lowest resolution at 50MP. The Leica S is an excellent camera, medium format in a DSLR format, the lenses are superb and it handles beautifully.
